We have only had our new Tempest for a month but have already taken it to France for a two week summer holiday. It towed without any problems and was a superb base for two adults and two children even when the weather wasn't so good!
We managed to seat four children and four adults with ease at mealtimes, and had no chance of ever filling all the locker and cupboard space.
My only criticisms are that the top bunk gets condensation on the roof when a child sleeps there in the warmer weather, and it is almost impossible to get both of the wheel locks on easily even when jacking it up.
That said, I love it and it has had many positive admirers. I would recommend it to anyone! -

The Crusader Tempest is an excellent caravan which looks stunning inside and out. We bought ours in 2010 and have now had two trips to France and Spain giving us great holidays. We have three young children who love the bunks and the van layout which I would recommend to any family !

Wow, just had our first weekend away in our new Crusader Tempest and loved it. We had debated for some time whether or not to take the step from single to double axle and it really has paid off. The extra space for the children to play is perfect and there is masses of storage space- so much that we went with at least 6 empty cupboards and others only partly filled. I was slightly concerned about the difference in towing a twin axle compared with a single but so far I would say it's better- fuel economy even showed a slight improvement on previous single axle which I was amazed with.
I made a slight modification to the bunk area by removing the bottom bunk completely. I carpeted this area to give extra storage/play space- there's even room for the dog's bed and laundry basket under here now!
The Alde heating is excellent as well- works just like the heating you would have at home.
The finish of the caravan is probably the best we have experienced and this is our 4th new caravan. Yes, there are some minor niggles which we will get the dealer to fix- but I would say I am very fussy and others might not be as concerned.
Would definitely recommend this to any family with two or more children. -

Wel,l what can i say - we absolutley love our 2011 Crusader Tempest. Been away for last 3 weeks on a seasonal.
Yes, i did over indulge and had the telemetry link fitted and boy how nice is it to get on site and have the van at 20 degrees and hot water ready to go!
Never tried the air con we took as the extra yet, but i'm sure it will be as top quality as the rest of the van.
We've had 2 other new vans and both had lots of problems - so far 0 problems with Elddis and cant wait till Sunday!!!!!!
We are a family of 4 and love this van and would highly recommend to any one. -

We had our first test trip away to Skirlington Leisure Park on the East Coast in our brand new 2011 Crusader Tempest last weekend.
Everything worked well, especially the Alde central heating, we were warm as toast even with the temperature set fairly low.
The huge bed at the front was very easy to make up and was firm while being comfy. The kids loved the bunk beds and the room divider which gave them their own space.
The oven and built in microwave were pressed into duty and again worked well.
The amount of interior lighting options were a little bewildering at first, but once we figured it out it was straight forward. We all especially liked the led mood lights over the windows.
The caravan towed really well behind my 2010 Citroen C- Crosser, I was a bit apprehensive as we'd upgraded from a single axle 2006 Compass Omega 484, but I shoudn't have worried, all went well, with a nice stable tow. It's nice to know that the IDC is there if required.
In short, we all love our new caravan, stylish, spacious, comfortable, stacks of storage space, warm, cosy, well lit and easy to tow.
I would recommend this caravan to any one wanting space and a touch of luxury, we can't wait till Easter now and a much longer break. -

The Crusader Tempest is a `proper' family caravan which looks fantastic inside and out. The dark flush-fit windows and pure white finish make the Tempest look modern - unlike its rivals. With its large dinette, the layout is ideal for a family to sit down and eat together, whilst in the evenings the children can be put to bed and the adults have their own space to entertain or watch TV. The massive fridge-freezer is a God-send and there is plenty of space to cook and serve dinner. The bathroom and separate shower are not massive, but are adequate and are well finished, no nasty wobbly shower trays or excessive mastic in here. The wardrobe is a bit too small, but there are loads of overhead lockers and cupboards to store things. Apart from a drawer runner coming away, build quality has been excellent with no leaks, appliance problems or door faults to report from our 50-odd nights away this year. Overall finish is class-leading and towing at 60mph is a relaxed affair. All in all an excellent real-world caravan which has been designed around families, unlike the current fixed-bed models which dominate at the moment.

We are really pleased with our Tempest. The layout is great. We've had so many people wanting to see inside - intrigued with the double dinette area.
Disappointed with amount of storage space - enough sleeping for 6 but struggles with equipment and clothing for 6 for a weeks holiday!
Love the large fridge/freezer, sadly though ours does not remain lit whilst on gas-which will be fixed.
As reported in the review in Caravan Club magazine, the main entrance door jammed on us on 2nd time out, locking us out.
Colours are gorgeous, double bed very comfortable, shower and cd/radio are brill.
On the whole, apart from few niggles, which sadly these days all caravans seem to be born with, we absolutely love our van and really love using it. It works well for us. We are a family of 2 adults and 4 teenagers!! -

Crusader Tempest has a unique layout especially suited to our familty of 6 with lots of equipment as standard!
However, build quality is not what I would expect of a van of this price - doors warped and fittings coming loose; air conditioning unit not fitted properly and took 3 months to sort out!!!
Eventually, a great van working properly - just can't wait to take it abroad.
