Very nice, plenty of room, bed very comfy. The only down side is that there are not enough electric sockets. (Note from Elddis: In the 2010 Season Range Elddis introduced more sockets as standard, including double sockets in our kitchens. This improvement has so far been implemented on Avante, Odyssey and Crusader models - but not on our entry-level priced Xplore range. Thanks for your feedback, Sarah - we'll take your suggestions on-board).

Hello We purchased an Eldiss Xplore 495 at the Caravan and Boat Show at the NEC in February 2010. We were so impressed with the layout of this caravan that we fell in love with it at first sight. We used to own an Abbey Spectrum 520 and the layout of your 495 is virtually identical to that of that of the Abbey except for its length. We are eagerlly looking forward to its delivery so we can collect it and start using it for the new season. Yours faithfully, Paul and Fiona Richardson New Elddis Caravan Owners

Our first caravan for me and my wife - both in our twenties, with one 10 month old baby, and what a gem! Brilliant to tow, solid quality, light and modern interior. Dealer (North East Caravans) and Elddis have been brilliant. We've used the caravan at zero degrees, and it was lovely and warm. Everything worked well (oven, fridge, sinks, shower, beds etc.) and worked better than we ever would have thought it would in a caravan, it's like our home from home. A fault in one of the curtains was rectified very quickly by Elddis via the dealer.

Having used the Elddis Xplore 495 now quite a few times, we love it. Apart from the sockets mentioned in my earlier review, the caravan meets all our needs. We have recently been Rallying with the Elddis Owners Club, and they are all brill too - we would recommend people to join in the fun.

Hi again Just an update on the Xplore 495. We went to Devon on 21st May to collect it from the dealer from whom we purchased it from - Stowford Fam Meadows. The site had pitched the van and power was also in place. We put the water butt in place and enjoyed our weekend in the new van. Previously we had not noticed the lounge roof light and the spot lights to either side of the van at the front. What a bonus the roof light was considering the hot weather we enjoyed! The return trip to the Midlands and home was a delight, as the van was the steadiest thing I have towed in many years. Well done Elddis, a cracking van for the price and lived up to all we hoped it would at the NEC in February. Many, many thanks indeed. The Richardson family

Have now owned our Xplore 495 for twelve months, there are things lacking , not enough sockets, poor carpet runner, not enough subtle lighting, poor shelving in fridge and a static ariel that`s useless. We have also had to buy a spare wheel and we have also upgraded the hitch to a stabiliser hitch which I consider should be a standard fixture. On the positive side it tows very well and is just the right size for the three of us; it is comfortable and we have had many trips in it so far, average value for money, but we won`t buy another , which is a shame. Note from Elddis: Thank you for your feedback, Paul. We're sorry to hear that the Xplore 495 is not the right caravan for you and your family. The Xplore range is our entry-level caravan range and as such does not have the same level of specification as you would find in Avante, Odyssey and Crusader. We feel the multi-award winning Xplore is competitively priced and equipped.

I have just been reading the latest review and felt compelled to respond. Yes, the Xplore is an 'entry level' caravan but it is well built, very light and comfortable and despite the small number of sockets does all that is asked of it and more. We have used the static ariel on sites and have had no problems. Plus it is digital and hence no need to change in the future. I have also recommended the Xplore range to friends who were imprssed with the quality versus cost of this range. Keep up the good work! Regards The Richardson family

Hi again, I was perhaps a bit harsh with my previous review. We are off to Brittany in France next week and I can`t wait. We collect our new car on Tuesday and leave on Friday. The 495 can`t be that bad - we still have it and we use it as much as possible!!
