The Winners Are Elddis Customers

In response to the article 'One Tough Gem To Crack' published in the May 2006 issue of Practical Caravan magazine that includes a review of the AL-KO Secure wheel lock with references to other wheel clamps available.

The editorial states that '(...the failure of BPW to supply an equivalent wheel clamp product to AL-KO, means that) 'The losers are Elddis's buyers.' It is therefore inferred that touring caravans supplied by Elddis on the BPW chassis are not as secure as those of our competitors who build on the AL-KO chassis.

It is the view of Elddis, that the article did not present a balanced view of caravan security devices, nor did it accurately represent the level of security available on Elddis vehicles.

Robstop WS3000 HitchlockThis year Elddis was awarded the 'Bakers of Cheltenham Award for Security' at the UK Caravan Industry Awards, in recognition of the combination of security measures and devices available on or for Elddis made vehicles. These include the new Seitz privacy windows, Winterhoff hitch lock, Autowatch alarm system, exclusive anti-winding corner steady bolts, Microtag property marking system, and of course the window etching, chassis marking and electronic tagging that take place as part of the CRiS registration scheme. As a package of measures, these items address not only prevention, but also importantly theft deterrent and property recovery providing the best levels of security on the market as recognised by the UK Caravan Industry.

The award shows the high importance Elddis places on the security of our vehicles and on the peace of mind of our customers. This recognition was awarded despite the availability and submission to the judges of the AL-KO Secure device.
