Elddis appoint New Quality Manager
Elddis has announced two new posts and three appointments to its Quality and Technical Departments.
David Whitehead (on the left) has been appointed as Homologation Manager and Harry Herbert (centre) as Quality Manager, both newly created roles in the Quality and Technical Departments. Trevor Hutchinson (on the right) has also been welcomed as the new Quality Engineer.
These appointments follow as quality becomes an essential element of the company's success, growth and its ambition to become a world class manufacturer.
David Whitehead has worked with Elddis for over seven years. His first role with the company was as Group Technical Manager. He then became Quality Assurance and Technical Manager, and has now moved to the new role of Homologation Manager.
David said: "As Elddis has successfully grown over the years and strives to become a world class manufacturer; it has become apparent that a dedicated technical role was required to ensure we are meeting European legislation and technical standards.
"I am delighted to be given the opportunity to take this new position. I plan to dedicate my skills and enthusiasm to a company and team I enjoy working with”.
David will be tasked with representing the company on technical issues and ensuring vehicles meet regulatory standards and legal requirements. He will also guarantee the company adheres to technical best practice and purchases and installs appliances, which comply with European and British standards.
To continue David's previous role in quality, Harry Herbert joins Elddis as Quality Manager, with 28 years experience in Quality and Reliability Engineering.
Harry has previously worked for companies such as Philips, Black and Decker, and Electrolux and has substantial experience in the automotive component supply industry.
As a Fellow of the Institute Of Quality Assurance with an MBA from Durham University, Harry is a key addition to the team at Elddis and relishes the challenges that face him: "I am very excited too be joining Elddis. The caravan and motorhome industry is expanding and with this growth come new challenges.”
He continued: "I shall be utilising my expertise in the Quality Assurance techniques that are being used in the automotive industry, to further improve the quality of caravans and motorhomes purchased by our customers.”
In addition to this, Trevor Hutchinson joins Elddis. He previously worked as a Project Engineer in the oil and gas industry, where he gained valuable knowledge of quality assurance. Trevor brings experience in supplier concerns, quality plans and the certification of final products, to name a few.
Trevor is delighted to be joining Elddis, saying: "I joined Elddis knowing that that quality across the board is key to our ongoing success. I'm really looking forward to putting my experience and skills to further use.”
Trevor accepted the challenging role, which has a wide remit of duties from developing the current quality system to implementing quality audits and setting quality standards.
