Elddis Reveals the Key to Motorhome and Caravan Show Success
Following the annual and eagerly awaited Motorhome and Caravan Show at Birmingham NEC, the team at Elddis expect a busy time ahead as they fulfil the orders placed over the previous week. This year's show attracted record attendance, with an encouraging rise in families new to caravans and motorhomes - and having done their research - Elddis was firmly on their shopping list.
The County Durham based manufacturer is delighted to report strong sales across all product ranges, including Elddis and Buccaneer touring caravans and Elddis Autoquest and Aspire motorhomes. The success of the show was no doubt due to intensive product development that has resulted in a 2012 season range that has been widely acclaimed for its innovation and individuality. As one Customer pointed out: "in a market where there's so much similarity, Elddis products really raise the standard”.
Weight, too, no doubt proved a deciding factor for many as they realised that despite the dramatic weight reductions on Elddis, all ranges remain amongst the best-specified in the touring caravan market.
The Buccaneer range, sister brand to Elddis and the most opulent touring caravan available from a big UK manufacturer, attracted a large audience and record sales, proving that there continues to be strong demand for luxury product. Elddis is also seeing a trend in Customers buying their larger caravans to site on a seasonal pitch, so it comes as no surprise that the Buccaneer, with its unsurpassed style and specification, was voted Best Caravan for Seasonal Pitches by industry experts Practical Caravan.
At the other end of the caravan spectrum, Elddis enjoyed a surge in sales of its multi- award winning Xplore range. Since its launch in 2008, this affordable range with its distinct styling has had broad appeal and at the Motorhome and Caravan Show it proved a must-see. Often imitated, the Elddis Xplore is still the only budget range to encompass truly unique layouts such as the award-winning 302 and 304. Often the first to pioneer new and innovative layouts, Elddis is also at the forefront of the latest trend for fixed single beds in a single axle caravan. Elddis reported Customers with an increasing demand for fixed single beds, but in a lightweight single axle - a layout - which they have successfully pioneered with twin-axle models over the years. Now with a choice of 5 such layouts, across four ranges including Buccaneer, sales at the Motorhome and Caravan Show confirmed the fixed bed trend is here to stay - and as Practical Caravan reported: "If 2012 is going to be the year of the fixed bed, Elddis looks to be in very good shape.”
Elddis Motorhomes remained the 'go-to' product for Customers seeking style and real value for money. The Autoquest retains its position as the UK's bestselling motorhome range and sales at Motorhome and Caravan Show smashed even last year's achievements. The coachbuilt 'entry-level' motorhome has benefitted from some smart new improvements this year and remains the popular choice for a wide range of savvy motorhomers. The Elddis Aspire motorhome range also drew an admiring crowd and the achievable price tag ensured a fresh spate of orders for this recently launched luxury coachbuilt.
Elddis was the only Motorhome manufacturer at the Motorhome and Caravan Show who always ensures that there is a seat belt for every designated sleeping berth in every model that it produces. The company recently launched its 'Belts = Berths' Campaign and now challenges its fellow motorhome converters to follow suit and put passenger safety over and above all other considerations and stop promoting models where the designated number of berths does not equate to the number of seatbelts - a hot topic which was championed by visitors to this year's Motorhome and Caravan Show.
On the Show's success, Chris Whitham, Commercial Director at Elddis told us: "We are delighted to report a significant increase in sales of both Motorhomes and Touring Caravans. Elddis is especially proud to be able to announce an increased market share at the Motorhome and Caravan Show and in these uncertain times, where buying decisions are increasingly well-researched and Customers' hard-earned money must be well invested.”
With the announcement of their 10 year warranty across all Elddis and Buccaneer products, the company is confident of a continued increase in demand. And with many other caravan and motorhome manufacturers due to announce an imminent price hike after the Motorhome and Caravan Show, Elddis is delighted to confirm that they will not be implementing any price increases.
