Elddis Winners in the 2012 Caravan Industry Awards

Now in their 36th year, the eagerly awaited Caravan Industry Awards were announced last night. Elddis - no stranger to the Caravan Industry podium, with a history of awards for design and innovation - were delighted to pick up two Winners and two Highly Recommended titles.

The Elddis Avante 372 scooped the award for Tourers under £14,000. One of the lightest and best equipped mid-range caravans on the market, the little 372 two-berth tourer has proved popular with couples of all ages.

Sister brand Buccaneer won the BCA Powerpart Electrical Award for the innovative 100% LED lighting, which includes spot lighting, feature lighting and mood lighting all with 80% less battery consumption and 70% improvement on standard lighting Lux ratings. As Buccaneer owners know, this ingenious caravan lighting not only looks spectacular, but is highly efficient and practical too.

Further recommendations for product innovation came from Whale - suppliers of class-leading caravan water and heating systems, including the new Elddis underfloor heating in the Autoquest motorhome range, Xplore touring caravan range and award-winning Avante 372. Whale were hugely impressed with the new Easy Glide ® bed system now in the Autoquest range which makes for instant, hassle-free bed conversion. This new innovation is also in all Elddis and Buccaneer touring caravans (excluding Xplore).

The Buccaneer range was also recommended by insurers Towergate Bakers for Advances and Innovation in Safety and Security, with the inclusion of the Sure-track ® covert vehicle tracker as standard specification. The 'go anywhere' wireless system is viewed as one of the best in the market and Sure-track's software means they claim to 'recover 91% of stolen assets within 9 hours'.
