Caravan brilliance? The all-new Crusader Tempest and Avante 646 equivalent revolutionise family caravanning
When we decided to launch the all-new Crusader Tempest, we knew we were onto something big. Big … and quite possibly better than any other family touring caravan seen before.
Our latest offering, launched first in the flagship Crusader range and arriving in Avante format at the NEC International Caravan and Motorhome Show in October revolutionises family caravanning, with a design and layout like no other.
The Crusader Tempest and Avante 646 not only break the mould - they set a new benchmark for 6-berth innovation.
With this layout you get a large front lounge (converting to a sprung, sumptuous spacious double bed), a central side dinette that seats four (and converts to a domestic-size, equally luxurious single for an adult or larger child) and triple fixed bunks at the rear (which fold down in transit for mountain bikes, pushchairs and all your caravanning accessories). The central kitchen is exceptionally big and the bathroom - with all mod cons - comfortably spacious.
None of this however eats up any of the storage space, which you'll find in abundance in both Crusader Tempest and Avante 646. Nothing is compromised, and that's why you'll find a 175-litre fridge freezer, microwave, oven and hob as standard in both layouts and a wide, well-lit and airy feel throughout.
The Crusader Tempest comes with distinctive plum and putty coloured contemporary furnishings and touches synonymous with Crusader: Seitz privacy glass; Hartal loft door; one-piece locker doors with silver inlay, Whale Aquasource waterline system with 40ltr on-board tank; gas barbecue point; and awning warmer, to list just a few.
The Tempest weighs in at 1880kg MTPLM (1622kg MIRO) and is available now from £19,995 plus delivery.
The up-coming Avante 646 version - launching at NEC in October - has the wow-factor with stylish silver and charcoal interior as standard, giving a young, fresh feel. All Elddis models (from Avante level up) have interchangeable fabric options, so you could opt for the Crusader fabric in the Avante and vice-versa for just £249. The Avante will weigh in at less than the top-of-the-range Crusader version at an anticipated 1720kg MTPLM and £15,695 RRP.
Already proclaimed 'caravanning perfection', is this the model to beat in 2010? See for yourself and post your reviews and thoughts on our website!
