Award Review 2007
2007 has been a great year for Elddis Ltd. They have received many awards this year from leading industry magazines for their ranges of touring caravans and motorhomes.
Then first of the awards came from Practical Caravan Magazine, they awarded the Elddis Odyssey 482 “Best Two Berth Tourer” for its feeling of space whilst only weighing 1368kg. The Elddis Odyssey 544 was also named as runner up in the “Best Fixed Bed” category for showing continued improvement in the design of the bed.
Following on from this Elddis Ltd went on to win two further prestigious Caravan Industry Awards. The “Whale Award For Tourer Innovation” and the “Hawkins Electrical Award”. “The Whale Award” was awarded for the introduction of the nose weight indicator built into the jockey wheel for a safer and more enjoyable towing experience.
The “Hawkins Electrical Award” was given to Elddis Ltd for its new AV output and audio input sockets in the Buccaneer range. The new AV output allows the signal from the DVD player to be transmitted to the TV in a choice of locations. The audio input was designed to enable MP3 players to be connected to the remote controlled DVD/CD/MP3 player to fully utilise the Buccaneer ranges entertainment system.
In February 2007, the Elddis Crusader range had swept the board in the prestigious Caravan Magazine Test Winners Awards much to the delight of Elddis Ltd. The Super Cyclone won ‘Best Storage’ and ‘Best Washroom’ whilst the Cyclone won ‘Overall 2007 Test Winner’ along with ‘The Best Bed Facilities Award’. Elddis are pleased that they have been recognised by the industry for their ability to produce valued, quality products.
The awards didn’t stop there, following on from this the Elddis Autoquest 115 was named the ‘Overall Winner’ of The Motor Caravan Design and Drive Awards, kindly hosted by the Caravan Club in May. The judges were impressed with this nippy and practical motorhome, they commented that is was quick, agile, easy to drive and fantastic value for money.
Most recently Which Caravan Magazine gave the ‘Best Couples Caravan’ award to the Elddis Odyssey 550. Again, the panel were bowled over with the modern stylish exterior, the rare island bed on a single axle caravan and an extremely practical kitchen and spacious washroom.
Which Caravan Magazine was also impressed with the Elddis Odyssey 525 as it was highly commended in the ‘Most Innovative New Caravan’ award.
