Caravan of Love
WHEN newly weds plan their honeymoon, exotic holidays and room service come to mind, but an Elddis employee decided to do things differently, but just as luxurious – and had his in a motorhome.
Neil Liddle, an Elddis employee since he was 16 years old, was loaned a top of the range motorhome from the leading leisure vehicle manufacturer when he expressed his desire to honeymoon in one.
After getting engaged in the Cairngorm Mountain range near Aviemore, Neil and his wife-to-be Judith, camping and caravanning enthusiasts, knew their honeymoon would involve the hobby they love.
Neil said: “We have both enjoyed camping and caravanning since the age of five so it was a natural decision to honeymoon in a setting we knew we would enjoy.
“Elddis kindly offered to provide the Elddis Autoquest 115 so we were able to travel further afield and explore different areas of the country in ways you aren’t able to when staying in a hotel.”
Neil and Judith are active members of the Camping and Caravanning Club; they even met as young members when they were 14 years old.
When the club found out about their longstanding links it offered to waiver the fees for any sites the couple visited during their celebratory week.
Neil and Judith got married on the 26th May 2007, exactly 12 years to the week when they met, with their honeymoon starting two days later.
They travelled to the West coast of Scotland as it was the only place they hadn’t discovered together.
Neil continued: “We thought it would be an ideal time to explore the area and with the vehicle loaned to us we had the best opportunity to do so.
“We would like to thank Elddis and the Camping and Caravanning Club for their generosity. We have had a honeymoon to remember.”
Eve Lenez, Marketing Manager at Elddis, said: “It is fantastic that Neil and Judith have taken their passion for caravanning one step further. Caravanning is becoming increasingly popular to those wanting something different from a holiday.
“I hope they continue enjoying the lifestyle that the pastime brings. On behalf of Elddis I wish them all the best for the future.”
