Teenage Caravanner raises money for national Children's Charity

A 16-year-old member of a caravan owners’ club has raised nearly £2,000 for ChildLine.

Tiffany Fisher, Junior and Teenage Representative of the Elddis Owner’s Club, raised the worthy sum by organising raffles, tombolas and games for fellow members.

Tiffany, from Felixstowe, Suffolk, said: “I have been a member of the Elddis Owner’s Club for two years now and I decided to use my role to benefit others.

“I am lucky enough to have experienced a lot of fun times in my life, which I know some children have not had the opportunity to do.“

The Elddis Owner’s Club has grown from strength to strength since it was established in 1973 and now holds more than 70 rallies a year across the country. Tiffany added: “I decided to donate the money to ChildLine because I would like to know that if I was in a difficult situation there was someone I could speak to.”

The money raised was officially handed over on Saturday 18 February at the NEC National Boat, Caravan and Outdoor show in Birmingham.

Lucy Young, Regional Fundraiser for ChildLine Midlands & East Anglia said, ”This is a fantastic amount of money that will really benefit ChildLine. The money Tiffany has raised will allow us to select, recruit and train one new volunteer counsellor leaving a lasting legacy for many hundreds of children. Tiffany should be very proud of the difference that she has made to all those children's lives.”

Steve Ford, Managing Director at Elddis Limited, which manufactures the Elddis caravans, said: “Tiffany’s achievements, especially at such a young age, are an inspiration and hopefully her gesture will spur other caravan club owners to follow in her footsteps.”
