It was mixed bag of weather at Glossop Caravans, but nothing could dampen the spirits of our new Elddis Avante Adventurers, Jane Neary and Steve Carter.
Jane and Steve are the winners of our Avante Adventurers competition, in conjunction with The Caravan and Motorhome Club, and will be our travel bloggers for the next 12 months. Read their story here.
Stepping inside this all-new layout for the first time, Jane and Steve were in awe – and somewhat taken aback at how deceptively spacious this new 2-berth caravan really is!
“This is just stunning”, said Jane, as she took her first steps inside the caravan which will take them on countless adventures in the year ahead. “The layout is so well-thought out and the interior design is beautiful!”
The pair almost overlooked the bathroom, thinking it was just a cupboard door, and were astounded to find such a spacious room, with its vanity unit, storage and full-size, fully-lined shower cubicle!
The team at Glossop Caravans gave Jane and Steve a warm welcome and Phil gave a full and thorough handover, explaining to Jane and Steve how everything works, inside and out. Both have caravanned in the past - although never in a new van – and they’re thrilled at the prospect of starting their retirement with such an adventure.
Their adventure will commence close to home, as the couple spend the next five days on the East coast, at Bridlington and then Scarborough – putting the Avante through its paces and relaxing in their new home-from-home. In the hubbub of retirement parties, Jane is looking forward to just kicking back and relaxing. She’s made a Beef Bouguignon and the wine is chilling already!
Included in their prize package is a year’s worth of Caravan and Motorhome Club site nights, plus ferry crossings and nights in Continental Europe. There’s no end of places to explore, as Jane and Steve enthuse, scanning through the Club’s site guides.
After the North Yorkshire Coast, our Avante Adventurers will head off to France, enjoying Normandy and Brittany at a leisurely pace. Steve has never been and is keen to visit the Cemeteries and Landing Beaches, then the rugged Breton coastline. Jane last visited when she was sixteen and wants to experience the romance of France with Steve in tow!
All of their travels will be posted here on our HUB and Social Media, so stay tuned and join in the discussions!
