Position:

Industrial Engineer

 

Main Purpose of the job

Liaise across various business professionals to deliver designs equipped for manufacturing and providing solutions to

problems concerning the design and manufacturing processes

Undertake the management of major layouts, workstations and flow line changes

Liaise with EHG Group facilities to ensure best practice

Responsibilities:

Building a holistic production system implementing lean principles

Development of Standard Work Methodologies

Establishment and implementation of training

Cooperation in strategic projects

Monitoring project goals and project-specific scheduling

Compiling work method instructions (SOPs) - designing new systems and processes for the introduction of new

products and the improvement of existing ones

Implementing production test procedures and methods for components and vehicles

Evaluating components for manufacturability

Evaluating and providing solutions to production process problems

Developing, installing, procuring and maintaining equipment used in the manufacturing processes

Specifing new tools/ machinery and processes, and help manage their implementation

Improving factory and machinery layout to achieve better material flows and process control

Designing / making jigs, tools, fixtures, templates etc.

Identifing major process improvement projects

Improving product routings in all areas

Carrying out data analysis

Keeping up to date with current and developing trends in the manufacturing industry, at a national and international

level

Keeping manufacturing costs as low as possible without affecting the cost of quality

Keeping up to date with legislative changes effecting all manufacturing processes

Involvement in 5S & Continuous Improvement initiatives

Involvement in training requests

Qualifications:           

Engineering Degree or equivalent

Vocational training (eg joiner, toolmaker), technical degree (eg wood engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial

engineer)

Level 1 equivalent in English & Maths

Knowledge and Experience:

Engineering Degree or equivalent

Vocational training (eg joiner, toolmaker), technical degree (eg wood engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial

engineer)

Normal Hours of work: 

Days : Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs Hours : 08:00 to 17:00

Fri 08:00 13:00

The post holder would be required to work the hours necessary to fulfil the requirements of the role.
