Position:

Assistant Interior Designer

 

Main Purpose of the job

Support the development of strategic Product Roads working within team interior designs for new product within

demanding timescales achieving timing and quality targets

Follow industry trends and select interior design schemes for EHG UK products. Manage the change from first concept

through to final implementation. Manage the retailer meetings to assist with the soft furnishings & graphic selection

process leading to ultimate customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

Keep up-to-date with the latest interior design trends and innovations available.

Monitor and critique interior design trends and developments in the leisure vehicle industry.

Assist from selection through to final implementation:

·Complementary lighting, design features and colour schemes covering the main vehicle habitation areas (lounge,

kitchen, bathroom, bedroom).

·Soft furnishings and fabric designs, styles and make-up of upholstery, cushions, curtains, bedding and floor coverings.

·Styling and colour schemes for ovens, hobs, fridges, microwaves, worktops, vanity units, wallcoverings and exterior

graphics.

Creating Product Designs in 3D and detailed 2D drawings

Work closely within multi-disciplined teams to ensure customer requirements are achieved and projects are delivered

on time and to the required quality level

Meeting with suppliers to maintain excellent working relationships with current and potential suppliers of fabrics,

materials, furnishings, and fittings.

Retailer meetings including pre-selection and advising throughout the fabric and graphic selection process through to

final specification and retail customer satisfaction.

Developing design concepts which comply with legislative requirements

Involvement in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives

Available to travel in the UK and abroad for supplier or retailer meetings & events.

Any other reasonable duties as requested

Involvement in 5S & Continuous Improvement initiatives

Qualifications:           

Level 1 equivalent in English & Maths Educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in Interior design preferable (design

experience in lieu will be considered)

Full UK driving licence

Knowledge and Experience:

Experience in a 3D design package, ideally Inventor, and also using a 2D software package

Experience of handling multiple tasks/projects

Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials as they relate to design and manufacturing

Self-motivated with a high degree of creativity and initiative

Lateral thinking with the ability to provide realistic and innovative design solutions

Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills; computer literate

Normal Hours of work: 

Days : Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs Hours : 08:00 to 17:00

Fri 08:00 13:00

The post holder would be required to work the hours necessary to fulfil the requirements of the role.
