Position:

3D CAD Designer

 

Main Purpose of the job

Support the development of strategic Product Roads working within a team creating 3D designs and 2D detailed

drawings for new product within demanding timescales achieving timing and quality targets

Responsibilities:

Creating Product Designs in 3D and detailed 2D drawings

Work closely within multi-disciplined teams to ensure customer requirements are achieved and projects are delivered

on time and to the required quality level

Participating in design reviews on new product designs

Developing design concepts which comply with legislative requirements

Involvement in 5S & Continuous Improvement initiatives

Adhere to H&S Policy

Adhere to Company Handbook

Adhere to Quality Policy

Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures

Adhere to IT Policy

Involvement in training requests

Any other reasonable duties as requested

Qualifications:           

Creating Product Designs in 3D and detailed 2D drawings

Work closely within multi-disciplined teams to ensure customer requirements are achieved and projects are delivered

on time and to the required quality level

Participating in design reviews on new product designs

Developing design concepts which comply with legislative requirements

Involvement in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives

Level 1 equivalent in English & Maths

Knowledge and Experience:

Experience in a 3D design package, ideally Inventor, and also using a 2D software package

2D geometrical tolerancing

Experience of handling multiple tasks/projects

Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials as they relate to design and manufacturing

Self-motivated with a high degree of creativity and initiative

Lateral thinking with the ability to provide realistic and innovative design solutions

Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills; computer literate

Normal Hours of work: 

Normal Working Hours : Days : Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs Hours : 08:00 to 17:00

Fri 08:00 13:00

The post holder would be required to work the hours necessary to fulfil the requirements of the role.
